About a session
We'll talk about your goals in our confidential session, and we can combine modalities to meet your needs.
With bodywork we'll find the soundtrack for your session (could be silence, any genre, or one of our many curated playlists).

During a session, what's most important is presence, listening to your body, and individualizing touch to tonify with gentle depth and effectiveness. The path to feeling better can and should feel good (even with deep work and when relieving pain).

After the session, we'll have plenty of time to develop or update a home care regimen.

Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a myofascial release technique for pain relief, restoring balance and alignment in the body and providing lasting relief for many different issues. With therapeutic holds and movements on pressure points, and rolls across connective tissues and muscle fibers, the myofascial, musculoskeletal and nervous systems are activated to release tension, increase blood flow and nutrient exchange, and return the body to a balanced posture. It's an over-the-clothes technique that should feel good and deeply effective.
Most people feel improvement during a session, or a day or two after, and have their issues, whether acute or chronic, improved in 1-3 sessions. In addition, most people see great (and sometimes unexpected) health benefits and continue with monthly or quarterly treatments for preventative measures and self-care. This technique is great for all populations, including infants, pregnant women, and the elderly.

Unlike many Bowen practitioners, who may treat several people at a time and take long breaks, we work one-on-one and with only short pauses, to give a more profound and transformative experience.
Massage Therapy
An individualized blend of relaxing Swedish massage, dynamic and restorative deep tissue work, myofascial release techniques and integrative stretching and movement for feel-good pain relief, improved health and lasting therapeutic results. We have available, free of charge, silicone cupping, organic therapeutic grade essential oils, and steamed towels.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy works with the mind-body connection to free the body from pain and trauma. With guided exploration, movement and sometimes bodywork, we curiously and compassionately work with parts and patterns to develop relationships and practices to become more connected with our body and be able to work with pain and trauma. We'll explore various internal connections in your body and create new neural pathways to provide the mind and body with choices, agency, and healthier responses, postures and practices. Zoom sessions available anytime, in-person available with Amy in March, June, September and December. Chenelle will be available soon for in-person sessions.

Amy works with Internal Family Systems therapy (www.ifs-institute.com), an evidence-based psychotherapy modality (completed level 1 training and working on 200 clinical hours for practitioner certification, and continuing to study IFS somatic therapy, Trager Mentastics®, Hakomi®, and Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing®).
